Xpose-Research Introduction   To be able to maximize the efficiency of IM we need to “learn” from previous incidents (and possible mistakes!) Research requires:      A common domain language which unambiguously describes IM data items like: Location , Incident types, Measures, Tasks etc. etc. Real-time data validation to safeguard data-quality A set of services to “enrich” the data with [post-incident] audits and evaluation [forms] A set of services to search and export incidents using criteria. An extensible and easy-to-use platform which provides for the previous…

Xpose-Research Maximize the efficiency Incident Management follows a continuous improvement cycle Plan Refine Execute Evaluate

Xpose-Research Domainmodel  An IM domainmodel should be based on [international] standards related to Traffic- and Incident Management entities.  … should use spatial extensions the to be able to work with the “location” of the incident in a standardized way,  … should use text search rules to be able to process the “free text entries”,  … should have validation rules to assure that users work with useful data,  … should have timestamp data to be able to audit the full IMprocess,

Xpose-Research Validation  Data should always be validated against pre-defined rules:  … required ?  … limit (“between 0 and 50”),  … cross check (“if value X > 0, value Y must be …”),  … post-archive check (“all measures should be closed”),  Inform the outcome of the validation process and optionally “block” when needed!  Always validate all H2M and M2M interfaces!

Xpose-Research Audit and Evaluate  Enrich the Incident [Management] data by means of an audit and/or evaluation,   An audit is used to check if incident handling complied with a set of pre-defined [IM-] rules [ checklist], An evaluation is used to check the overall quality of handling the incident [ questionnaire] AUDIT and/or Evaluation Incident Management Incident IM-DATA

Xpose-Research Search and Export  Provide facilities to retrieve data for:      Criteria builder:      Incident Management Performance reporting, Accident reporting, Crisis Management reporting, Hazmat reporting etc. Date-ranges Incident types etc. Specific roads Area etc. Export to CSV, Excel , PDF etc.

Xpose-Research Platform  Xpose is an extensible data processing and distribution platform for fast development of ITS applications,  … provides a domain [data] model based on [international] standards related to Traffic- and Incident Management.  … has a near real-time user-interface with complex [rule-based] data validation,  … interacts directly with a full-fledged independent research tool for audits and evaluations,  … includes a simple-to-use search and reporting tool,

Xpose-Research Software   From Q1-2014, Xpose core will be available as open-source software under version 2.0 of the Apache Software License From Q1-2014, our SaaS - platform will support an expanding set of services for (Incident) Management:        Registration , Data enrichment, Data Exchange, Data Export, Decision Support, Reporting, Etc. etc.
