When creating realistic renders whether it be for an interior or visualization, indirect illumination is something that it can be consider using in 3D scene or 3D CAD scene(is used almost in all CAD softwares like AutoCAD, 3DsMax, SolidWORKS and e.t.c). Final gather(FG) is a prominent feature in most rendering engines, including the render engine mental ray which is the main rendering engine. In global illumination final gathering is the simulation of refusal or bounce the light from surfaces.
