His career began in 1760, when , at the age of four, he wrote his first concerto. Three years later, at the age of seven , he wrote his first symphony and at twelve , his first opera. His father, who was a musician himself, was the first to notice Mozart’s talent. Because of his father’s ambition and persistence , Mozart was introduced to the great world leaders of the time. His concert tours took him to Munich , Mannheim , Bologna , Paris and London, and at a very young age, he became court musician to Emperor Joseph II Mozart’s musical style was quite revolutionary. He introduced ballet and comedy with The Magic Flute, political satire with the Marriage Figaro and tragi-comedy with Don Giovanni. He wrote openly about love, death and politics and his compositions were long, loud and passionate. He was often criticised for using too many musical notes as well ad for the tastelessness of some of his music. Although Mozart was world famous and highly successful, he was always in debt. It seemed that he and his wife, Constanza, always spent more money than he could earn. Mozart died of depression and exhaustion at the young age of thirty –five shortly after writing the Requiem.
