The company followed the strategy of growth via acquisitions and acquired several companies over the years in order to remain competitive. Cisco needs to focus on product innovation and should aggressively target the emerging markets where there is maximum growth. In the first quarter of 2014, Cisco has reported 12.1 billion in revenues. 8.7.2 M&A Activity Cisco has also been relying on partnerships and alliances to increase its position and market share in the wireless industry such as ZTE.
