 A camcorder is an electronic device combining a video camera and a video recorder, typically used for consumer video recording. Although marketing materials may use the colloquial term "camcorder", the name on the package and manual is often "video camera recorder".

 Video cameras originally designed for television broadcast were large and heavy, mounted on special pedestals and wired to remote recorders in separate rooms. As technology improved, out-of-studio video recording was possible with compact video cameras and portable video recorders; a detachable recording unit could be carried to a shooting location. Although the camera itself was compact, the need for a separate recorder made on-location shooting a two-person job.

 Camcorders have three major components: lens, imager and recorder. The lens gathers light, focusing it on the imager. The imager converts incident light into an electrical signal. The recorder converts the electrical signal to video, encoding it in a storable form. The lens and imager comprise the "camera" section.

 To assess camcorders, we performed a number of real-world tests. First we took each one out for a hand-held shoot, to familiarize ourselves with the controls and handling characteristics. Then we performed two controlled tests, representing the best and worst possible shooting environments.  Also compare the specifications of these camcorders like:-

 The use of digital video has opened up an exciting and highly effective way of enhancing learning. Video clips can also provide evidence of progress made within of traffic management system. The ability of short video clips can help analyze and evaluate performances brings information about the traffic volume, speed, density and conjunction on the stream.

 traffic management system places significant demands on the quality of image due to the nature of the activities being videoed. Activities often happen at speed and require high quality video capture to enable viewing of slow motion or stills.  There are specific requirements to use any camcorder and to obtain good quality video clip:

At times it can be difficult to find the best position for the camera without interfering with another activity or group. A wide angle lens or a wide angle lens adaptor for the camera enables the camera to be positioned much closer to the activity and should be considered an essential feature when deciding which camera to use.

 A good quality tripod, designed for use with a video camera, is essential for videoing  PE activities. Any camera shake will reduce the quality of the recording. The tripod is  also essential for smooth movement of the camera when following an activity.

 The framing of the image in the viewfinder is crucial. Points to consider:  Give enough space in the fame to include the whole movement and items such as Vehicles and pedestrians.  Does the shot need to include the whole performer or concentrate on part of the scene.  Give enough space in the fame to include the whole movement and items

 Panning is needed if following an activity that includes movement across a space. Ensure that the performer remains within the frame at all times. It can help to pan slightly ahead of the performer so that the performer has space to  “run into” without running out of the frame.
