Description

Telematics technology has been mostly used by fleets and employers to check the location of their vehicles and assets. With improved sensors and software, many more features are now possible, including automatic crash notification, automated FNOL, and bodily injury analytics . The ability to use data from fleet vehicles in real time to estimate the probability of injuries sustained during an accident or during the course of the working day, has huge implications for personal, commercial and worker's compensation insurance lines. The black box on board the vehicle can deliver data to expert software on the server in real time, allowing insurers, fleets, risk managers and CFOs to manage fraud, and exaggerated claims using engineering based data.
