Slide4:  Use the text to focus your objectives 1) Study vocabulary from text 3) Read and or listen to a story written by the teacher and answer comprehension questions 4) Answer questions about themselves 5) Combine those answers into a paragraph 6) Publish student work Handout pages 7-13 Slide5:  Use real authentic materials that interest adults In the health unit, students learn how to buy over the counter medicine by using Handout page19 2. develop home remedies and post it on the web to share with the world. Use student experience:  Use student experience Personal Information: Students create a PowerPoint about their countries Handout pages 27-34 Have Skype ( conversations and have students write a paragraph about their experiences Listen for the difference in clarification! Integrate math with language skills:  Integrate math with language skills Charts, Maps and Graphs Integrate map skills using ( Make a form on Google Docs Food-Price Comparison (Handout pages 20-21) 1. Brainstorm food to research 2. Go to local supermarkets and write address and phone number. 3. Find prices of food in supermarket 4. Make a chart with the name of the food and the price. 5. Type chart on computer. 6.Compare prices of different foods. 7. Use Google Docs to share Cell phones allowed:  Cell phones allowed You may use your cell phone in my classroom as long as it is in English and you have it set to vibrate. (Handout pages 22-26) I text my students. You can do mass texting using Jott.
