LEARN TO TYPE WITH KARL AND TOM PART III – The middle row.

Hi Karl. Is this the home row? No Tom. That is called the “middle row”.

But isn’t that where the home keys are? 8 of the home keys are in the middle row.

They are A, S, D, F, J, K, L and :

… but remember Tom, the spacebar is also a home key. That’s not in the middle row. … ah, that’s right. Thanks for reminding me!.

That’s okay Tom. Now, let’s learn a bit more about the middle row!

Use the left pinky for the ‘Caps Lock’.

Also use the left pinky for the ‘A’.

Use the left ring finger for the ‘S’.

Use the left middle finger for the ‘D’.

Use the left index finger for the ‘F’.

Also use the left index finger for the ‘G’.

Use the right index finger for the ‘H’.

Also use the right index finger for the ‘J’.

Use the right middle finger for the ‘K’.

Use the right ring finger for the ‘L’.

Use the right pinky for the ‘:’.

Also use the right pinky for the ‘”’.

Also use the right pinky for the ‘Enter’ key.

Keep practicing. Remember, the more you practice, the better you will get.

Thanks Karl. I’m trying to type like you tell me, but I’m a bit slow. Well Tom, keep your fingers on the right keys. It may be slower at first, but it will soon make you a much better typist!!! Next time I’ll tell you about the bottom row.
