The Touch and Go Scanner AN ERGONOMIC AND EFFICIENT SCANNER FOR LOGISTICAL EMPLOYEES EVERYWHERE RICHARD LARIVIERE

First, some of the current scanners on the market…..

MOTOROLA DS9808-SR Price: $400-$700 Range: 35 ft.

Motorola Symbol MC9090-G Retail: $1,950 Operating System: Microsoft Windows 5 Mobile

Motorola WT4000 Wearable Mobile Computer Price: $1,936 Hooks into a cradle to charge and to transfer data to a mainframe terminal Operating System: Windows CE 5.0

Voyager 1202g Industrial Cordless Scanner Price: $379 Range: Less than 45 ft.

Unitech MS912-5UBB00-SG Barcode Scanner Price: $202 Communication Range less than 33 ft Connection USB or Bluetooth Connectivity Cordless, iOS/Android

Common Trends  Expensive  All scanners need to communicate to a terminal at all times to work properly  Not designed Ergonomically (except for the WT4000 model)

What is Ergonomics?  The applied science of equipment design, as for the workplace, intended to maximize productivity by reducing operator fatigue and discomfort.

Why we designed our product  To maximize productivity through ergonomics  To remove the barrier of dependency on terminals  To lower costs per scanner

Our Design  Thumb trigger  More accessibility to the trigger  Strap around the backside of the scanner  To keep it on the person’s hand while the person grab packages  Ambidextrous  Ability to be used on the right or left hand

Our Design  Removable Batteries  Instead of plugging in the whole scanner to recharge, it would be more beneficial just to change out batteries and recharge just the battery  Memory Cards  Instead of requiring a computer terminal, we have use a micro memory card that can be inserted into a tablet or a computer to be read

Why we designed our the way we did  The improved design of the scanner allows the employee to simultaneously hold the scanner, scan boxes, and pick them up  Ideal price for our scanners would be below $100 to attract potential customers while producing a unique and useful product

Target Market  Air Cargo Companies  Warehouses  Any Overlapping Industries

What we need Help with startup capital so we can:  Manufacture a functional scanner with this idea implemented  To promote it at Air Cargo Conferences and Trade Shows worldwide  Produce a sample software that is compatible with this scanner to promote it better to companies  Assistance with some of the start-up costs

Examples of Some Start-Up Costs o Patent Cost o Trade Mark Cost o Raw Materials o Business License from the City of Jacksonville

Examples of Some Start-Up Costs o Location to Manufacture o Design Application Fee o Articles of Organization Fees for the State of Florida

Why we are the best people to handle this  We have worked in the industry  We have witnessed the risks and setbacks that current system and technology present  We have the vision, the motivation, and the commitment to give this project life and the ability to thrive in the market in the relevant industries

Who I am  Richard Lariviere  Graduated from Jacksonville University: Aviation Management  Former Material Handler for FedEx Express at JIA  Former contractor for the United States Postal Service

Special Thanks To:  Benjamin Fambrough  Jamel Johnson  Austin Weaver
