Of the 3.5 million LinkedIn members who have held internships, 600,000 returned to the same companies as full-time employees. An intern is defined as someone with the term “intern” in their title. A conversion is counted when an intern returns to the same company where they held their internship, without the term “intern” in their title. Education and research institutions were excluded due to the high amount of students who do research or other work on campus.
