 Alexei Schacht is a New York attorney who specializes in criminal law. He spent six years working with the district attorney's office before forming his own practice. Throughout his extensive career, he has won many jury trials and appeals. For many of these cases, Alexei Schacht succeeded simply because the prosecution's witnesses were not reliable. Below are two cases in which witnesses played a key role in helping him win his client's case.

 1. Angelo Rezaj was arrested and tried for murder in Bronx County, New York. The murder indictment was tossed out when two witnesses testified that Rezaj did not look like the person they saw commit the murder. 2. Alexander Vacaj was charged and tried for attempted murder. Authorities believed Vacaj hired people to cut his former girlfriend's face. When it came out that she continually called Vacaj and had been charged with perjury and drug trafficking in the past, she refused to testify. The case was thrown out.
