The FIFA World Cup TM Held every 4 years, and lasting an entire month, the FIFA World Cup TM is the world’s largest sporting event. 3.6 million people attended the 1994 FIFA World Cup TM in the USA, an average of 69,000 per match - both numbers are still records. 3.4 million people attended the 2006 FIFA World Cup TM in Germany, an average of 52,000 per match. South Africa, the 2010 host, projects an economic impact of $2.7 billion U.S. More people watch the FIFA World Cup TM than any other sporting event. The 2006 FIFA World Cup TM had cumulative viewer ship of over 26.3 billion people in 214 countries vs 4.7 billion for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Kansas City has been short-listed from over 50 US cities bidding to be one of the final 18 in the USA bid. The final 18 USA bid cities will be chosen in December of this year. FIFA will select the Host Country for both the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups TM in December of 2010. Kansas City has a VERY GOOD chance to be named a final USA bid city and the USA has a VERY GOOD chance to to host either the 2018 or 2022 FIFA World Cup TM .
