The Crisis of Imperialism and the future of humanity

Omali Yeshitela African Internationalism: Key to understanding imperialism’s crisis

We believe that a united world without oppressors and the oppressed is possible and necessary

To get there we have to begin by acknowledging the truth

Yeshitela: Capitalism is parasitic, built on slavery, colonialism, genocide, conquest…

Creating a pedestal of prosperity and democracy for white people.

Oppressor nations live at the expense of Oppressed nations

Struggles around the world: Gaza, India/Pakistan, Somalia U.S. war, terror, counterinsurgency: Response to resistance by oppressed

U.S. backed Israeli slaughter in Palestine Obama’s response: “No comment”

Republicans, Democrats: same parasitic capitalist ruling class

Imperialist imposed poverty, starvation, displacement worldwide

Colonialism, poverty, oppression inside the U.S.

Struggle for self-determination: Oppressed peoples taking back stolen resources, land, power

Struggles for self-determination inside U.S.: African, Indigenous anti-colonial movements

Struggles for self-determination strike the critical blow to imperialism/parasitic capitalism

This is the basis for the current economic crisis

Economic crisis marks end of U.S. hegemony as “sole superpower”

Parasitic capitalism sinking in uncharted waters Stock market lost nearly half its value in 2008

2 million “prime” mortgages in default currently, almost a million more than last year. Miami homeless Africans moving into foreclosed houses.

Food stamps: $23/week 573,300 jobs lost in November 1.2 million jobs lost in last 3 months, already unemployed, no longer looking or “underemployed” Not to mention prison population

Homelessness, tent cities skyrocketing

Homelessness, tent cities skyrocketing

But nobody talking about this. Obama always talks about “Middle class”

Detroit, Cleveland other U.S. African cities: >a third in deep poverty

U.S. manufacturing at lowest level in 60 years

TWO-THIRDS OF U.S. GDP CONSUMERISM! But now everybody’s broke!

But now everybody’s broke!

$8.5 trillion spent in desperate US bailouts

Bailouts only save lifestyles of these guys

Bailouts have no effect on economy as a whole

Now everybody needs a bailout! States and cities Steel industry Construction Medical industry Colleges Homeowners The unemployed Manufacturing The NBA!

Now everybody needs a bailout!

States and cities

Steel industry

Construction

Medical industry

Colleges

Homeowners

The unemployed

Manufacturing

The NBA!

Bailout gave unprecedented powers to Treasury Dept. Changed no laws so bankers still committing same crimes GMAC – subprime auto loans Ponzi schemes abound

Changed no laws so bankers still committing same crimes

GMAC – subprime auto loans

Ponzi schemes abound

U.S. National Debt: $10,676,487,036,342.00 Plus total government liabilities = $53 trillion! (social security, medicare) $400,000 per each family of four U.S. debt as much as GDP of whole world–$66 trillion!

Plus total government liabilities = $53 trillion! (social security, medicare)

$400,000 per each family of four

U.S. debt as much as GDP of whole world–$66 trillion!

China, Japan and others finance U.S. debt

But U.S. power is shrinking

China tired of financing $$ Unrest because of unemployment in China as U.S. consumer economy tanks

Parasitic capitalism based on endless resources stolen from enslaved colonized people

Now capitalism outsources factories, jobs because they need cheap labor too

The capitalists will sell you the rope to hang them with-Lenin

Oppressed peoples are becoming clear: capitalism is dependent on colonial labor and resources!

When Africa is reunited and liberated, it will have the most powerful economy on the planet!

This is why the U.S. is setting up AFRICOM with military bases all over Africa

Bailouts, stimulus packages will deepen economic crisis

Obama can’t fix it Same plan Same parasitic players Same parasitic capitalism

Same plan

Same parasitic players

Same parasitic capitalism

Building roads and capitalist “green economy” won’t cut it

Capitalists can’t fix it Their only motives: Profit Greed Self interest regardless of price to others

Their only motives:

Profit

Greed

Self interest regardless of price to others

UN, IMF, others predict 2009 collapse of US dollar

Predictions with dollar collapse:

U.S. economy in ruins? “Never,” say most North Americans. But without a host the parasite must die.

Why not? For 500 years white power has destroyed colonized economies, lives, resources !

Asked by London Times to a Southern newspaper editor in 1860s

A: “The ships would rot at her docks; grass would grow in Wall Street and Broadway, and the glory of New York, like that of Babylon and Rome, would be numbered with the things of the past.”

A: “The ships would rot at her docks; grass would grow in Wall Street and Broadway, and the glory of New York, like that of Babylon and Rome, would be numbered with the things of the past.”

“ Without slavery grass would grow on Wall Street…”

Impoverished European workers poured into the US for jobs, democracy, opportunity in 18-1900s

Access to pedestal of white power required one thing: Complicity in slavery, genocide The foundation of the capitalist economy

Fears of white people: They will do to us what we did to them!

Such as…

And…

And…

So, for millions of people food shortages & currency deflation are ordinary

Imperialism needs imperialist peace to continue its exploitation

500 years of resistance has rocked imperialist power

1712 and 1741--enslaved Africans waged major organized uprisings in New York city--were well organized. Twenty percent of New York’s residents were enslaved Africans. The white people called them “conspiracies” meaning they were well organized.

1521 Aztecs resist Cortes and Spanish invasion. Bernal Diaz and Cortes--found Tenochtitlan (at the site of today’s Mexico City) to be the most splendid and beautiful site they had ever seen. Markets, cleanliness, birds and flowers, artists, poets, street theater, prosperity. Then slaughtered the people and destroyed the city within a few years.

Anti-colonial movements of 1960s

1960s U.S. Black Power Movement: Urban African workers in U.S. • Anti-colonial movement

Black Power Movement of the 1960s shook the U.S. to its very foundations. Was an anti-colonial movement inside this country, struggle for political power after voting and civil rights were won. Defined African people as a colonial people, part of the overall African liberation struggle. Black Power Movement of the 60s

U.S. counterinsurgency against national liberation

COINTELPRO U.S. counterinsurgency against Black Power Movement

As part of counterinsurgency US set up Neocolonialism

Mandela & owner of DeBeers diamonds: Neocolonialism facilitates the ongoing looting of Africa’s resources

Neocolonialism: last stage of imperialism

Real problems in white society sitting on pedestal We want to see world without any oppression

GLBT and Women’s oppression

Workers

Environmental destruction

Disability rights

Domestic violence

Substance abuse, alienation

But we have fought for our rights at the expense of the African and oppressed communities

Our goal cannot be to become an equal opportunity oppressor… Sitting comfortably on the pedestal of the oppression of African and colonized peoples!

Women’s, Gay Liberation sparked by Black Liberation

Women’s Liberation?

The colonizer Cecil Rhodes was gay!

Our goal is to end the system of oppressor and oppressed!

Our oppressive ruling class is the same parasitic capitalist class responsible for war destruction, suffering and oppression around the world

The ruling class does not care about gays, women or working people

White people on the pedestal gives them a base of support for their imperialist plunder

When they no longer need us we are dispensable

A system built on the backs of the enslaved will be overturned by the leadership of the slave

In this time of crisis it’s every capitalist ruler for him/her self. They take the money and run

Do we fight for dying white power?

Or join the rest of humanity?

Life at the expense of African, oppressed peoples is no life at all!

Those who created the problems can’t solve them

Parasitic capitalism has got to go!

The African Revolution: liberating Africa and the world!

Africans are one people around the world

Africa’s resources for African people !

African Socialist International African workers lead the struggle to liberate Africa and African people
