The Clark Atlanta University Faculty Development Center (FDC) : The Clark Atlanta University Faculty Development Center (FDC) Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) & Academic Instructional Technology Center (AITC) Goal: : Goal: The integrated FDC is dedicated to providing the faculty at Clark Atlanta University (to include full-time faculty, part-time/adjuncts, and graduate assistants) with resources and support needed to ensure that the highest quality of teaching and learning, the most cutting-edge scholarship in respective disciplines, and commendable internal and external service efforts occur throughout the University.  The FDC will also assure that all of these areas are supported and enhanced by appropriate technologies. Objectives: The FDC will develop and deliver a minimum of three cutting-edge pedagogical programs related to student learning to be delivered through personal and technological interactions; The FDC will develop and support a minimum of three technology infusion programs that will promote the use of content delivery systems and integrate technology into the teaching and learning process; FDC will provide a minimum of three resource programs/tools that will support faculty efforts related to teaching, scholarship/creative endeavors and service. Highlights for 2007-2008 : Highlights for 2007-2008 TimeLine October, 2007 CETL and AITC became an integrated Faculty Development Center. FDC Participated as a member in the CASTL (Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning) National Institutional Leadership Program January, 2008 FDC hosted the 3rd annual National Teaching and Learning for Empowerment Conference May, 2008 FDC Faculty Evening Symposium featuring Dr. Carlton Brown—Fireside Chat June, 2008 Scheduled: Writing Across the Curriculum & SoTL Intensive Workshop Series September, 2008 FDC Developing Scholarly Agendas at CAU—a month long event Ongoing: Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Initiative Leadership and Management Series Evening Symposium Series Brown Bag Lunch Forum Series FDC Travel Grants FDC Technology Mini-Grants Publication of FDC Newsletters Providing Technology Resources To Faculty : Providing Technology Resources To Faculty Updated Training Lab Video Conferencing Technology Services Technology Integration and Implementation Planning WebCT & Application Training
