Think about guests’ prospective fields of interest and what specific information you will need to provide. Read carefully the INFO Package for more information that you will need. Check the AUBG Web site ( or contact the respective offices if you cannot find the information you need in the INFO package. Check List Introduction:  Be punctual and wear your nametag. Smile, be calm and confident, make the best first impression. Introduce yourself politely, if appropriate - shake hands. If not already known, ask the guests if they have visited AUBG before. Introduction General Information:  The American University in Bulgaria was founded in 1991 as a joint endeavor of the US and the Bulgarian governments; supported by the United States Agency for International Development, the Open Society Institute, the University of Maine, and the City of Blagoevgrad. AUBG is a private American-style Liberal Arts University, comparable to institutions in the US, where the liberal arts education: - encourages students to develop critical thinking and creative problem solving; - nurtures both the skills needed for successful careers and an ongoing intellectual curiosity. The language of instruction is English. General Information Accreditation & Mission:  Accreditation - AUBG is accredited both in the United States (by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges) and in Bulgaria (by the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation).
