CanVAS® PayForMe™ Calling collect has been one of the key services in the wireline networks. It has allowed operators to generate additional revenues and has enabled subscribers to connect to friends and family from public locations, especially in an emergency. CanVAS® PayForMe™, Mobile Collect Call Application, brings the same functionality to wireless operators. CanVAS PayForMe is a member of the CanVAS Value Added Services portfolio. It is a network based value added service solution that enables wireless carriers to target end-users like the youth market, low budget and prepaid subscribers and enterprises. It allows mobile subscribers to make collect calls without the involvement of an operator through a simple USSD message or a voice call. CanVAS PayForMe, Mobile Collect Call Application, helps wireless operators to increase their network usage and voice traffic, and stimulate new revenue generating calls that would not have been possible otherwise. Ensuring service continuity, the service builds up customer loyalty resulting in reduced churn.
Benefits Convenience of Placing a Call Without Available Credits CanVAS PayForMe application offers pre-paid subscribers a peace of mind that, in case of a personal emergency, they can reverse the charges even if the pre-paid account is depleted. Increased ARPU CanVAS PayForMe provides the opportunity for operators to increase their ARPU by allowing their subscribers to make a collect call when they: • Are out of credit or have little credit reserved for emergency • Cannot recharge their credit because they do not have access to a recharge mechanism • Want to reverse the charges for personal or business reasons User-friendly Interaction The subscriber can make a mobile collect call virtually from any mobile phone thus it is not handset dependent. Product Overview CanVAS PayForMe application is integrated with the CanVAS product family. It assures unparalleled flexibility in adding value to mobile, fixed and IP networks. The application is triggered by a USSD string followed with the target MSISDN, SMS message or a prefix based call, which makes the service available even while roaming. Below is a generic service initiation example from a USSD interface: A Party (Caller) dials a USSD string followed by the phone number of the B Party (Called Party) to request a PayForMe transaction. The system then generates a call to B party informing that A Party with the specified phone number is requesting for the call to be paid. If B Party selects “Yes“ and accepts the call, two parties are connected and his ordinary bill or prepaid account is charged only for the duration of the call. If B Party selects “No”, the collect call request is rejected, USSD or SMS notification is sent to the A Party informing him that his request is rejected by the B Party.
