These are several different actions that people took to gain suffrage in NZ.

Actions taken by women….

Public meetings addressed suffrage campaign leaders attracted large audiences.

Letters were written to newspapers.

Pamphlets were published to encourage support.

Deputations spoke to politicians at every opportunity.

Women attended political meetings to question candidates and to show their growing interest in politics.

Information about suffrage issues and meetings was published in journals.

Huge petitions were signed and presented. In New Zealand one petition contained over 30,000 signatures, a quarter of the female population at the time.

Women attended parliament for crucial debates.

These are the many different ways people took action to gain suffrage for women.
