6 rounds of review! FORMATTING & HEADER PROFILE EDUCATION ACCOMPLISHMENT STATEMENTS (x2) INTERESTS

Formatting • • • • Margins (minimum: 1.5cm all around) Font (minimum size: 10) Resume is in third person Consistency: periods, commas, caps, dates, fonts, italics, bolding • Alignment (aligned to the left vs. aligned to the right) • Location (city and province) • Header: – Size of name – Contact information – Preferred vs. legal name

Profile • Reasonable size (not too short, not too long) • Tailored to job posting (uses their words or synonyms) • Third person • Key competencies • Education overview • Profile statements are backed up by the statements in the rest of the resume

Education • Follows this order: degree, school, completion date, specialization, key classes, awards • Relevant courses to the job posting • No grocery lists • Total of scholarship winnings as opposed to listing off scholarships • Cumulative average: 75+ ; individual class 80+

Accomplishment statements • Most recent first  reverse chronological order by end date • Uses a variety of accomplishment verbs (same verb can be used max 2 times) • 90% are in RAC format, some can be switched around if it flows better • Numbers: zero-ten, 11, 12, 13+ • 1-2 lines long (can be more for highly relevant or recent experiences) • Always past tense • Concise (try to eliminate filler words: “and”, “the”)

Interests • • • • Specific Able to talk to for at least 5 minutes Variety (i.e. not just all sports) Tailored to job
