This is done by studying the reaction rate of three different stimuli: visual, auditory and tactile. Hypothesis: The fastest response is the visual response. Background: Feedback control is a mechanism to control the response of our body to any stimulus. Feedback loops can be divided into two main types: positive and negative. In a positive feedback the increasing of the concentration of a stimulus will lead to an increase in the rate of the response while in a negative feedback, increasing the concentration of a stimulus will lead to a decrease in the rate of the response. The system responsible on controlling most of these mechanisms is the nervous system. The rate of the response to a certain stimulus depends on the type of stimulus as an example of such stimulus is the visual stimulus. This change in the rate of the response will depend on the distance traveled by the signal and the type of communication (chemical or electrical) between the synapses. In this experiment, the rate of response of visual, auditory and tactile stimuli will be compared by using the monitoring the rate of reaction.
