South Africa Additional data:It has 2,798 miles of coastline on the Atlantic and Índico. bordered to the north by Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, to the east by Mozambique and Swaziland.Is known as the rainbow nation.South Africa is also a country of deep inequality between different social groups, while there are great fortunes and the capitals are among the major business centers in Africa, about one quarter of the South African population is unemployed   and live on less than U.S. $ 1.25 a day.

South Africa Origins and history: * On 31 May 1961, had its first State President(Charles Robberts Swart). Before, it was a British colony. *Apartheid: 1950-1994 word meaning 'the state of being apart', literally 'apart-hood) was a system of racial segregation in South Africa enforced through legislation by the National Party (NP) governments, the ruling party from 1948 to 1994, under which the rights of the majority black inhabitants were curtailed and Afrikaner minority rule was maintained. *In 1990 the National Party government took the first step towards dismantling discrimination. Nelson Mandela was freed from jail and political parties were made legal

South Africa Main cities:Cape Town, seat of power legislativo is the second-most populous city in South Africa, after Johannesburg,. Cape Town is famous for its harbor as well as its natural setting of flora, Table Mountain and Cape Point. It is also the most popular tourist destination Africa.

South Africa Traditions:South African society is multiracial, so when differentiating the origin of one must be very careful, there are descendants of Afrikaners and British, who does not give them grace to be confused. Miscegenation is currently urban areas has promoted the disappearance of culture but there are still important traditions. When a man wants to marry a woman, he must pay a sort of dowry, it is a relief that the groom makes to the family of the woman for taking a daughter. Polygamy is permitted, men desire but women are generally opposed, polyandry is also practiced but is rare.Currently the country is being reinvented every day, and in that effort trying to regain the artistic spirit that were denied during apartheid. To this end we can see how the black art is coming to the galleries and how their music is present in the Festivals.

South Africa Traditional food:Amasi: sour milk. Biltong: salted dried meat (similar to jerky). Bobotie: a dish originating in Malaysian cuisine, is like meatloaf with raisins and you cooked egg on top, and often served with yellow rice, sambals, coconut, banana slices and chutney. Boerewors: a sausage traditionally has gone to braai (barbecue). Bunny chow: is a kind of bread filled with curry. Chatni: a sweet sauce that is usually poured on meat, especially on a local brand called Mrs Ball's Chutney. Frikkadelle meatballs. Gesmoorde vis: salted cod with potatoes and tomatoes and sometimes served with apricot jam. Hoenderpastei: chicken pie, traditional Afrikaans. Isidudu: pumpkin pap. Koeksisters: specialty sweet

South Africa Sport:Racial and ethnic divisions are noticeable even in sports: the white Afrikaner rugby fans are, while English-speaking whites prefer cricket. Blacks, however, are more football fans.In rugby South Africa is a power, in fact, is considered the sport nacional.62 The national team, known as the Springboks (gazelles) won the Rugby World Cup twice (1995 and 2007). As for football, the Federation of South Africa was suspended for several years because of Apartheid by FIFA, as a result, the team could not participate in any official tournament from 1974 to June 7, 1992. Cricket is another important sport in South African life
