CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 AIM%AND%OBJECTIVE% % The!geotechnical!investigation!is!aimed!at!finding!out!the!geotechnical!condition!of! the! soil! surface! and! subsurface.! It! covers! the! investigation! of! the! condition! and! types!of!rocks,!the!geological!structure!and!other!geological!conditions!such!as!the! soil! movement! and! the! weathering! process! on! the! land! area! of! Villa! in! Selong! Belanak.! The! data! obtained! were! analyzed! so! it! can! be! used! as! a! reference! in! the! design! planning.! The!investigation!was!carried!out!at!the!planned!Villa!area.!The!scope!of!work!refers! to!the!Term!of!Reference!and!the!Bill!of!Quantities!of!the!design.! II.1 Core%Drilling% % The! core! drilling! includes! core! sampling,! standard! penetration! test,! and! ground! water!table!observation.! The!sampling!method!was!conducted!by!using!hydraulic!rotary!boring!machine!and! supported!by!pump!machine!for!the!drilling!fluid!circulation.!! The!drilling!core!sample!was!taken!using!Single!Core!Barrel!for!soil!and!weathered! rock!samples!and!using!Double!Core!Barrel!to!take!hard!rock!samples.!The!drill!bits! types! used! were! the! super! metal! drill! bit! and! the! diamond! drill! bit! with! the! core! diameter! of! 48! mm.! The! boring! result! was! taken! step! by! step! in! the! form! of! core! samples,!which!were!placed!in!the!core!box!for!five!meters!coring!sampling.!! II.2 Standard%Penetration%Test% % Standard! Penetration! Test! (SPT)! was! conducted! by! referring! to! the! ASTM! DJ1586! Standard!and!the!test!interval!was!at!every!two!meters.!! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

II.3 Cone%Penetration%Test%(CPT)/Sondir% % The!CPT/Sondir!Test!was!carried!out!at!ten!drilling!points!with!the!targeted!depth! up! to! the! maximum! capacity! of! the! sondir! machine/Dutch! cone! penetrometer,! namely!250!kg/cm2!of!penetration.! This! test! was! conducted! to! evaluate! the! strength! of! the! soil.! The! testing! locations! were!situated!around!the!foundation.!The!Cone!Penetration!Test!was!conducted!by! using!mechanical!penetrometer!with!GMF!type,!Holland,!+!2.5!ton!capacity,!and!the! testing! implementation! was! in! accordance! with! the! ASTM! DJ3441.! The! results! of! this! investigation! are! presented! on! the! CPT! Chart! which! shows! the! connection! between! qc! (cone! resistance),! qf! (total! friction),! fs! (CPT! sleeve! friction),! and! fr! (friction! ratio)! while! the! contrasts! among! the! qc,! qf,! fs,! fr! and! the! depth! are! presented! on! the! appendix! of! cone! penetration! test.! Based!on!the!Geological!Map!of!the!Lombok!Sheet,!West!Nusa!Tenggara,!published! by! the! Geological! Research! and! Development! Centre! (S.! Andi! Mangga,! S.! et! al.,! 1994),! the! oldest! rocks! unit! that! is! the! base! of! Lombok! Island! is! the! Pengulung! (Tomp)!Formation!of!OligoceneJMiocene!age.!!This!formation!is!composed!of!rocks! as! a! result! of! volcanic! activities! (igneous! rocks)! that! consist! of! breccias,! lava,! tuff! and! calcarenite.! ! The! Pengulung! (Tomp)! Formation! is! interfingering! with! the! Kawangan! (Tomk)! Formation! which! is! made! up! of! alternating! layers! of! quartz! sandstones,! clay,! and! breccias.! From! its! position! that! is! interfingering! with! the! Kawangan! (Tomk)! Formation,! the! age! of! Pengulung! (Tomp)! Formation! is! of! late! Oligocene!to!early!Miocene.! Both! formations! are! cut! through! by! layered! dykes! of! dacite,! basalt,! diorite,! and! granodiorite!of!middle!Miocene!Age.!The!Pengulung!and!Kawangan!Formations!are! randomly!layered!by!Ekas!Formation!of!late!Miocene!age!in!the!form!of!calcarenite! and!above!the!Ekas!Formation!lies!groups!of!Lombok!volcanic!rocks!of!late!Pliocene! to! early! ! ! SOIL%INVESTIGATION%OF%VILLA%AREA% IN%SELONG%BELANAK%! ! CHAPTER IV CONCLUSIONS 1. Villa Selong Belanak is at the coordinates of Latitude 08°50’39.6”S and Longitude 116° 09’45.9”E. It is located at Selong Belanak Praya, Lombok Tengah Regency. 2. The geotechnical investigation on the site of the Villa was conducted at 10 testing points. 3. The planned villa area has a typical hilly morphology with a slope of 60° to 80°. 4. The geomorphological process that occurs on the site of the planned Villa area of SELONG BELANAK is of degradation type in the form of surface and hillslope erosion. 5. The lithology visible of the outcrop sample shows the presence of sandy silt as a result of weathering of rocks. 6. The SPT value > 50 started at the depth of 1.70 m. 7. The soil layers of 0.00 m up to 4.50 m are in the form of weathering of rocks, namely sandy silt ( MH ) , sandy clay ( CL – CH ), and silty sand/clayey sand ( SM/ SC ). Gravel rocks and boulders are also found in loose condition with the diameter of 0.5 cm up to 40 cm, 8. From the result of the laboratory testing, it is found that the top soil materials at 0 m up to 4.50 m are in the form of sandy silt, sandy clay and silty sand/clayey sand. 9. The location of the villa is at the top of the hills with a steep slope. The drainage system and the soil layer reinforcement in the form of terracing system in order to reduce the danger of soil erosion and landslide are need to be concerned. The materials as a result of the weathering of rocks in the form of sandy silt, sandy clay or silty sand are easily eroded by water. The weathering process of the surface is in intense category with the thickness of the layer is of + 4.50 m. ! ! ESP! ! J U R U S A N T E K N I K S I P I L – F A K U L T A S TEKNIK - UNRAM ! !

If the restraint reaction of the column not too heavy, more economical to use "one column for one pile system". However if the restraint reaction is heavy can use "pile group". 12. Highly recommended bore pile poer combined with rigid tie beam to resist the horizontal reaction. 13. Bored pile concrete casting suggested using pipe tremie to avoid segregation.! ! ! ! ESP! !
