Functions of technology in the language classroom 1. INPUT 2. INTERACTION 3. OUTPUT

INPUT • Information you convey/give to your students. – Context – Non-verbal clues – Adjusted verbal communication

INTERACTION* • Variety of activities occurring among students.(pair/group work) – Negotiation of meaning – Adjusted level of proficiency – Scaffolding *Interaction also happens between the student and learning material.

OUTPUT • Verbal or written expression according to a specific situation – Adjusted level of proficiency – As authentic as possible – Pragmatically adequate
