*HELPFUL NOTES* Use one email for all social media accounts. Create a document with passwords and usernames to prevent data loss JOIN SLIDESHARE Be prepared with your company information and leave no blank box behind. When creating a SlideShare account, do not connect with Facebook or LinkedIn, unless you are the business owner.
GETTING STARTED I advise having branding guidelines and “key” phrases to be given to anyone prior to using SlideShare. Uploading is quick and easy. However, animations and transitions do not transfer from PowerPoint. Begin with uploading presentations that have been approved by management. I suggest three presentations.
UPLOADING YOUR PRESENTATION Presentations uploaded to SlideShare, must be a final copy. Only PRO accounts have the ability to be private. Slide titles should catch an eye but have words that make the content searchable. Categories are mandatory. Choose a category that best reflect the presentation topic. Tags give a business additional keywords or terms to be found when searching. Don’t leave this area blank!
*HELPFUL NOTES* Change the content in the LinkedIn top box simply by clicking “Edit.” Edit these boxes at every chance available. SHARING YOUR PRESENTATION While creating content for business social media accounts, share presentations on all sites. However, tailor the message to each site as they have different audiences and voices.
REVIEW, CLICK AND SAVE SlideShare offers an opportunity to review slides but the presentation is live and viewable. Upgrading to a PRO account allows a user to make a share private. Account holders can edit and view presentations by clicking on “My Uploads” in the top right corner. Users can review analytics, edit details, re-upload and delete presentations.
EXPLORE SlideShare allows a business to search with three query options. Keywords are used to explore SlideShare. By searching for a keyword or term, an account holder can review a variety of files. The ability to search specific file types like infographics and video.
