Software options:  Software options Plug-in based: Breeze (Adobe) Camtasia Studio Screen Recording and Presentation Articulate presenter Web based Sign in and upload your powerpoint file Glitchy – can take a long time to convert the file into flash format Not always clear when it is finished! Advantages:  Advantages Superior to a podcast Advantages:  Advantages Valuable resource for revision/preparation before lecture Students can ‘rewind’ sections that were initially unclear….. …..more likely to get to the end without giving up? Slide19:  ‘Comments’ – a good mechanism for student questions and feedback Disadvantages:  Disadvantages Another piece of software to master Time consuming Would need to be ‘mike’d-up’ during lectures to avoid to giving the lecture twice Students less likely to attend the lecture Will they actually sit through the slidecast? Abandon it half way through? Loss of personal interaction with lecturer harder to keep them interested Can’t change technique/style if you see bored faces Conclusions:  Conclusions If you are thinking of podcasting it is probably worth a go….
