Spring ‘14 Salesforce 1 The key announcement of Dreamforce ‘13 was the new mobile app, Salesforce 1. We’ve been really impressed with the improvement of Salesforce for mobile and tablet solutions since the release of the app. Here are the latest features in the new release Communities You can now log into your customer/partner community from Salesforce 1. Great for sales and service people to answer questions on the go! Topics on Objects You can now add topics to records. This means you can group records by category’s , making searching and organising records simpler. Once enabled, topics become fully reportable as well as available in your list views! Custom Brand Mobile Browser App You can now add your logo and colour scheme to the mobile browser app. Just like our login screen! Embedded Charts On Pages We love showing account utilisation/spend at the top of our account page in Salesforce. And now you can see this information on Salesforce1 as well! Chatter It’s no secret that Salesforce love and stand by Chatter. And we are seeing lots of development around Chatter and it’s functionality. But here is what's new in Spring 14. • Profile roll outs! You can now select which users get access to chatter by there profile rather than a ‘chatter free for all’ as was standard previously. Don’t like the HR department? Then cut them off from all conversations and collaborations immediately  • Announcements! Make an announcement in Chatter groups to highlight important messages • Email! Send your emails directly to chatter! Game changer. Forecasts The forecasts object was completely rebuilt a few years back and it’s getting better and better. (after an awful lot of complaining)!. You can now filter by product family and revenue. Also if you are still living under a rock and/or using forecasts 1.0 then it is being retired this summer so switch to collaborative forecasts and join the party. Salesforce for Outlook NOW THIS IS BIG! I’m still shocked at how few people are aware of the FREE salesforce for outlook side panel plug in. But if you have it then this is big news. You can now Create Cases from emails direct in outlook. If you’re a customer support professional then this will change your life. Service Desk Drag and drop files directly into the case feed!
