Contributions to the World  Ruby Bridges helped end segregation in schools.

Interesting Facts  She did not know she was going down in history.  Some white people threatened to poison Ruby.  Mrs. Henry was a white person, but she was nice to Ruby. Mrs. Henry was also her teacher.  Her bravery inspired kids everywhere, white or black - she taught them that everyone should be treated equally.

One Question we would ask her  Did you make any friends in school?

Timeline  1954 - Ruby was born.  1958 - Ruby's family moved to New Orleans.  1959 - Ruby goes to kindergarten at an all-black school.  1960 - Ruby goes to an all-white school.
