Plans have been submitted for the 60,000 sq m government office campus at Waverley. Utilising 38 acres of land between the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) and the Waverley Community development, the campus is expected to provide office space for 2,000 employees. UPS Systems plc will supply and install a hydrogen fuel cell for the Environmental Energy Technology Centre (EETC) on Rotherham’s Advanced Manufacturing Park. The "Hydrogen Mini-Grid System" supplies power to the building, enabling it to be self sufficient. It uses renewable energy produced by a 225kW wind turbine, which will produce over 500MWh each year – more than enough to power the centre. Rotherham’s budding entrepreneurs will have a rare chance to ‘test drive’ their business ideas as part of a worldwide event on December 8. Around 50 nations have signed up to take part in the first Global Business Incubation Day, which aims to celebrate innovation and entrepreneurship. A recent trip to Korea has resulted in a number of deals for Rotherham company Martek Marine. Martek recently won a large contract for 44 MariNOx systems which are to be installed across four major shipyards in the city of Busan. Rotherham is bidding for a new university centre in the Dearne Valley. Local MP John Healey said: "A university centre in the former South Yorkshire coalfields could open up new opportunities for local people. Phase IV of AES' Global Technology Centre is a £10m state-of-the-art investment in UK manufacturing including nine axis machining centres which are dedicated to AESSEAL's move into hydrocarbon processing. During National Enterprise Week, the city of Hull launched Hull Ready- a replica of the Rotherham programme to be managed by the Rotherham Ready team.
