GURLEK NAKIPOGLU HIGHSCHOOL: GURLEK NAKIPOGLU HIGHSCHOOL ‘Reading for traveling through the paths of life’: ‘ Reading for traveling through the paths of life’ Our project was chosen as a good Comenius school partnership implementation by Turkish National Agency . Slide 5: GOOD POINTS OF OUR PROJECT QUESTIONNAIRE: QUESTIONNAIRE We had a questionnaire about usage of library and reading books for students . We had a questionnaire about reading books for parents Cross-curricular Impact: Cross - curricular Impact Students from different classes and teachers of different subjects were involved . Role of Students: Role of Students Students actively participated in project activities like bookwormcontest , meeting with authors , library visits , folk dances , etc . DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES: DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES After the international and author meeting, news and photos about our mobility took place in newspapers, magazines and on Comenius Corners, and as a result, our students felt more motivated and self-esteemed. PRESS RELEASES: PRESS RELEASES European Union Workshop: European Union Workshop Our national agency invited us to TUBITAK which is the biggest and the best science research center to work 50 successful project managers to find out the problems when we are implementing the projects . Slide 13: PROJECT ACTIVITIES BOOKWORM COMPETITION: BOOKWORM COMPETITION Students read 6 selected books . They were tested from these books . 98 students participated the competition . We had a bookworm award ceremony . The winner came with us and the second , tird and the fourth winner were awarded with digital cameras . BOOKWORMS AWARD CEREMONY: BOOKWORMS AWARD CEREMONY LIBRARY WEEK 29 March- 4 April 2010: LIBRARY WEEK 29 March - 4 April 2010 Everybody at school read books during a lesson at this week . MEETING A WRITER : MEETING A WRITER We visited Lale Erkal and joined workshop and learn to make beads out of recyled journals . She donated her books to our school library Our students read her books and write a review and post them a local newspaper to be published . MAKING PAPER BEADS: MAKING PAPER BEADS Recyling paper beads: Recyling paper beads Reading and Drawing: Reading and Drawing We read a chapter of a book that you advice and draw the picture of it. Reading Club: Reading Club We read a book and meet once a month and discuss about the book . Radio Theatre: Radio Theatre We are reading and recording for blind people at our local library . Radio Theatre is very popular among blind people , we are looking for radio theatres and we will organize students to read , record and write new radio theatres next semester . English Readers Library: English Readers Library We have an English Readers library at language class . Students read a book every week and make its summary . THANK YOU!: THANK YOU!
