An introductory course is redesigned to provide undergraduate students with an understanding of, and appreciation for the role of the clinical laboratory scientist in today’s healthcare environment.Using selected features on Blackboard the course was constructed to inform students about the profession; expose them to practicing professionals; encourage them to seek and share information; and to foster development of a learning community in which each student was responsible for the performance of their group.
