Consider the products that tie in with the release of Carrie and give details of:  How synergy is a factor in the remake of the film  How the films soundtrack will appeal to the target audience (try to find if any artists have released tracks individually to coincide with the release) Kimberly Peirce decided she would make a remake of the film Carrie because there was a gap in the market for a good horror film. It also helped with the fact the intended target audience was teen boys and girls as this was also a gap in the market. When I came to making the remake of Carrie the budge of this film was a lot more than the original. The budget for the 1976 film was $1,800,000 whereas the 2013 remake had a budget of $30,000,000. This is something that you see a lot when it comes to remakes. Due to recent trends of other film genres doing remakes of old films Kimberley Pierce decided to do the same thing with this film. Screen Gems have bought the rights for Carrie. However they have worked with companies that made the original. This will help them make more money because they will be able the re- release the original. The synergy that they have in this film helped in the remake of it. This is because people went to go and watch the remake and then afterwards went out to buy the book and the original increasing their sales. The soundtrack in the 2013 film appeals to the target audience as they are bands/artists that have the same target audience. An example of this is the film contains tracks from Vampire Weekend and Haim.
