Ramadhan is coming, Shaytan is running, Muslims are preparing, Heaven is opening, Hell is closing.

What is Ramadan:Ramadan,is the ninth month of IslamicLunar Hijri Calendar, is marked by religiousritual of As-Saum (The Fasting), which isone of the five Pillars of Islam. Fastingstarts from early dawn (Suhur /Sehri) tillsunset (Iftar). During this period one has toabstain from eating or drinking. The LunarCalendar is 11 days shorter than theGregorian Christian solar calendar, andhence the starting of the month ofRamadan predates by 11 days itsoccurrence in the previous Gregoriancalendar. Thus, the vagary of the changingof the day time and night time graduallygets assimilated uniformly in all parts of theworld.

Fasting is No t abo ut Die t o f buringcalo rie s .BUT burning o f pride e g o and sins !

"Whoever fasts during Ramadan out of sincere faith andhoping to attain Allahs rewards, then all his past sins will beforgiven".- Bukhari

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “When themonth of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven areopened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devilsare chained.”(Sahih Bukhari )

What is Fasting? In Ramadan, Muslims dont eat or drinkanything at all from dawn to sunset. This iscalled sawm and is one of the Pillars of Islam.Muslims get up very early in the morning, before the sun rises and have Suhur. You canhave your usual breakfast at this time. Afterthis, you do not eat or drink until it is Iftartime, when the sun sets.Since Muslims come from just about everyplace in the world, different families havedifferent foods they like to eat for their iftar orSuhur meal. Our beloved Prophet used to break his fastwith dates, that is why many Muslims eatdates during Ramadan.

Ramadan time, coming soon insha Allah

"Anyone who fasts for one day, Allah will keep the Hell-Fireaway from that person for a distance equal to 70 years."[Al-Bukhari]

Do I have to fast? All Muslims that have reached puberty, male and female, must participate infasting during Ramadan. People who areelderly, sick or pregnant do not have tofast, however they may make up the daysthey have missed or pay to feed a poorperson equivalent to these days.

"During Ramadan, the devil is chained up,but only for those who fast".

[2:185] Ramadan is the month during which the Quran was revealed, providing guidance for the people, clear teachings, and the statute book. Those of you who witness this month shall fast therein. Those who are illor traveling may substitute the same number of other days. GOD wishesfor you convenience, not hardship, that you may fulfill your obligations, andto glorify GOD for guiding you, and to express your appreciation.

Prophet (S) said "there is nothing like fasting". Makes sense consideringtheres a separate Gate of Paradise made only for those who fast.
