1. Radiotherapy Research Seminar Series Why are we offering this and why would you wish to attend? There is an opportunity to gain an 'electronic badge' to show skills gained by attending, following completion of a post event survey. If you would like to attend please contact Jo Doughty(j.p.doughty@shu.ac.uk) If this is during clinical placement please seek the agreement of your PDF and use your study time, although the sessions are only an hour you can use the rest of the time to complete study on site if you wish. 1. We would like you to gain awareness of current research in the field of cancer and radiotherapy. 2. Will allow you to see what is involved in research 3. You may become inspired to move forward in research This is an enhancement to your CV illustrating a commitment to learning beyond the programme students commented… “As a RONC student new research is highly relevant for my career” AND “Good quality, informative seminar and relevant to my study/clinical placement experience. Also gave me some ideas regarding researching literature material for my dissertation” This seminar session will give participants an insight into the role of radioisotopes in Oncology. Topic: Molecular radiotherapy- past, present and future Speaker: Dr Jon Wadsley, Consultant Clinical Oncologist Weston Park Hospital, Sheffield Date: Friday 11th September 2015, 8.30 for coffee (F514) 9am start Venue: F518 Robert Winston Building.

2. Dr Jon Wadsley Dr Wadsley is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist based at Weston Park Hospital, Sheffield. His primary interests are in upper gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, thyroid and neuroendocrine tumours. He has a particular interest in radioisotope therapy/molecular radiotherapy and is actively involved in research in this field. He is clinical lead for Division 1 (Cancer) of the Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Research Network.
