Four innovation centres -Teaching and training; -The sea; -The wind; -The population.
Innovation in international cooperation. Collegia o Integrated and multidisciplinary approach to community-based intervention; 80% of the expertise comes from the overseas partner; o Overseas expertise has been the benefactor of previous projects; o 20 % of expertise is provided by Collegia, especially in new or specialist areas o Emphasis is placed on gender, the empowerment of women, the environment and sustainable development o The projects aim to help communities become more resilient to climate change, as well as improve food security, and increase entrepreneurship and economic development o Key areas: Fisheries and aquaculture, forestry, industrial engineering and renewable energy, biomethanisation, water management, agriculture and livestock production, ecotourism and adventure tourism

Centre for innovation in aquculture and fisheries of Québec Merinov (centre d’innovation de l’acquaculture et des pêches du Québec Merinov) An example of a recent research project The innovative development of a kite designed specifically to provide traction for a fishing vessel, which results in the reduction of power necessary for propulsion. Once optimised, the system will provide a fuel economy of 20%. For a fishing vessel this represents a saving of 20 000 litres of fuel per year, and the emission of 50 tons less of greenhouse gases(GHG).

Innovation :Community-based support module (Module d’aide aux collectivités) o Make the knowledge of teachers and students available for regional development, within an educational framework. o Social innovation to reinforce regional development (partner- need-teacher-student) o Transferable and adaptable application according to the context
