They are long and look like a rectangle. On maps, we can see length and height. long (length) tall (height) Slide6:  Globes are not flat. Globes are not long. Globes are round spheres that look like balls. They look like the real Earth. long (length) tall (height) Slide7:  We can fold a map and easily take it with us. Slide8:  We can not fold a globe to take it with us. Slide9:  On a map, we can look down and see all places on Earth at the same time. Slide10:  On a globe, we can look down and see only some places at the same time. Slide11:  Maps can show our whole world. Maps can also show smaller areas like streets, neighborhoods, cities, counties, states, and countries. Slide12:  Globes do not show smaller areas. Globes will only show the land and water that make up our whole world. Slide13:  Usually maps are made of paper, which is easy to tear. Globes are made of paper and other materials that make it harder to destroy. Slide14:  Maps and globes are different tools. We can use them in different ways to find places on our planet, Earth.
