W: There are Beijing opera, a concert and Chinese acrobatics. What do you prefer? N = Nicolas W = Wei N: What are we going to see this evening? N: Oh, they all sound interesting. Slide6:  W: Chinese acrobatics is often mistaken as the Chinese circus (马戏表演) by many westerners. W: First of all, I don’t want you to have any misunderstanding of Chinese acrobatics. N: Yes, of course. N: Why? N: That’s also what I think. Slide7:  W: In fact, Chinese acrobatics is much more limited than Western circuses. There are no animal acts or high wires. N: Western circuses include all of these as well as acrobatics. W: Right. Look at these pictures. They show some wonderful performances given by the acrobats both at home and abroad.
