So what is this passion for the world all about?

My Brother Nabeil Jassim Al-Oboudi 1951-2011 It is about Self Actualization through service to others

Article 24. Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay.

It is about the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the land that gives us in abundance. It is about the manifestation of self purpose, and living a meaningful life. It is the intersection of challenge, hope and mastery. It is the light of imagination puling us out of the darkness of despair.

MAKE IT SELF EVIDENT IT IS SELF EVIDENT Parks Make Life Better! R Idris Jassim Al-Oboudi ‫ادريس جاسم العبودي‬ February 1, 2010 205

Live your Passion Live, Learn, Love and Leave a Legacy To live is the physical, To learn is the mental, To love is the emotional, To leave a legacy is the spiritual, To feel that your existence mattered... Doing this will insure that you have lived a wonderful and full life Idris Jassim Al-Oboudi 1985

Live your Passion To take from earth without thinking of what is lost and what is gained is antithesis of life. We are but visitors entrusted to pass on intact all earth’s wonderment to the next generation of life… All life is sacred all life is self purpose. ‫ ادريس جاسم العبودي‬Idris Jassim Al-Oboudi 1985

Live your Passion Success is self actualization, fulfilling your quest for love and belonging, autonomy, significance. Be happy by bringing joy, health happiness and fulfillment to others. Remember the most important things in life are not things... So Live, Learn, Love and Leave a Legacy each day... Go on Creating Community and Quality of life through People Parks and Programs

Live your Passion Live, Learn, Love and Leave a Legacy each day To make money we loose our health and then to restore our health we loose money. We live as if we are never going to die and we die as if we never lived. The happiest people don't have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have... So please remember: Live simply, Love generously, Care Deeply, Speak Kindly, Leave the rest and time will tell.

Live, Learn, Love and Leave a Legacy each day Remember - the richest person is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least.

It is about life “It is about the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the land that gives us in abundance. It is about the manifestation of self purpose, and living a meaningful life. It is the intersection of challenge, hope and mastery. It is the light of imagination puling us out of the darkness of despair. Idris Jassim Al-Oboudi, “Challenge Hope and Mastery,” 1985 & from a talk given to the faculty and student Leadership group CSULB training 2004 & CSULB Students March-21-2006.

It is about Vision Vision is a vividly perceived idea born out of imaginative insight and resulting in a proactive foresight and wisdom in planning. Imagination is the igniter of creating and the light of creation in all of us. How we use our imagination, and to what end is a reflection of our humanity” Idris Jassim Al-Oboudi, “Challenge Hope and Mastery,” 1985 & from a talk given to the faculty and student Leadership group CSULB training 2004 & CSULB Students March-21-2006.

It is about Imagination There are two very powerful mind muscles, one is memory, and the other is imagination. Memory informs our knowledge; imagination inspires our soul…Overcome fear of failure and negative memories by imaginations of success. Fear in many ways is imagined things appearing real. Memory is finite, imagination is abundance. Idris Jassim Al-Oboudi, “Challenge Hope and Mastery,” 1985 & from a talk given to the faculty and student Leadership group CSULB training 2004 & CSULB Students March-21-2006.

It is about Leadership Leaders, use your imagination not only to uplift yourself but to inspire change in the human condition. “Leadership is about ACTION not POSITION & TITLE, Leadership is building trust, is providing Vision, Direction, Imagination, Empowerment, Understanding, Support, Creating synergy in defining, accomplishing and measuring Goals/Objectives and most of all it is about asking the right questions , being Proactive in managing change, and creating positive atmospheres and environments where relationships are built in trust and team work flourishes. If you can’t do this get out of the way” Idris Jassim Al-Oboudi, “Challenge Hope and Mastery,” 1985 & from a talk given to the faculty and student Leadership group CSULB training 2004 & CSULB Students March-21-2006.

It is about Service When considering our philosophy of customer service, of service to others we must not look at people as transactions.. Life is not an economical equation… Life must not be abbreviated into an economical equation, void of what makes us more human.. Care, Love, Responsibility, Empathy towards others.… In a very general way, it is true that without customers we don’t have jobs that depend on customers … however the work we do first is caring for people and serving their needs creates customers….. Customers are me and you.. Not $ signs…. As humans we find self actualization , love and belonging, Autonomy, significance in service of others… Idris Jassim Al-Oboudi 1979

A LEADER I went on a search to become a leader. I searched high and low. I spoke with authority, People listened. But, someone wiser than I came along and they followed that person. I sought to inspire confidence, but the crowd responded “Why should we trust you?” I postured and assumed the look of leadership, I exuded confidence and pride. But many passed me by and never noticed my air of elegance. I ran ahead of the others, pointed the way to new heights. I demonstrated that I knew the route to greatness, and then I looked back and I was alone. I stopped long enough to ask myself the question, “Now what do I do?” I had worked real hard and used all that I knew.” As I was thinking I began to listen to all the conversations happening around me, and I heard, for the first time, what the group was trying to accomplish. I rolled up my sleeves and joined in the work. As we worked I asked, “Are we all together in what we want to accomplish and how to get the job done?”

A LEADER We thought together, we fought together, and struggled together towards our goal. I found myself encouraging the faint hearted. I sought the ideas of those too shy to speak out. I taught those who had little skill. I praised those who worked hard. When our task was completed, one of the group turned to me and said, “This would not have been done but for your leadership.” At first, I said, “I didn’t lead, I just worked with the rest, and then I understood, leadership is not a goal, it’s a way of reaching a goal. I lead best when I help other to go where we’ve decided to go. I lead best when I help others to use themselves creatively. I lead best when I forget about myself as a leader and focus on my group…Their needs and their goals.

A LEADER “To lead is to serve…To give…To achieve together. To Serve Humanity is the Highest Honor” Idris Jassim Al-Oboudi 1982 “Honesty, Responsibility and Empathy are Core Principles that unite all Humanity. Practicing them is a reflection on our Humanity” Idris Jassim Al-Oboudi 1982
