Network marketing is nothing new. In fact, it has been around as early as the 1920s. But those who have just jumped onto the network marketing wagon often don’t know where to start. The question commonly asked is:

Which is the better network marketing method – Online or Offline?

Network marketing is nothing new. In fact, it has been around as early as the 1920s. But those who have just jumped onto the network marketing wagon often don’t know where to start. The question commonly asked is: Which is the better network marketing method – Online or Offline? Truth be told, the debate about whether online or offline methods are best to build your network has been going on for years. Pro-online marketers will vouch that you have unlimited possibilities with the vast number of users and methods available in the online market; hence makingonline network marketing the way to go. Pro-offline marketers will argue otherwise. Even with millions of prospects accessible online, it lacks personal touch and won’t build you a quality downline which you need to make network marketing successful in the first place. So what then is the answer? NONE. As a serious marketer, you should not be going into the online vs offline networking marketing debate; rather you need to look at the entire bigger picture. You need to weigh out the pros and cons of each method – online and offline. Generally speaking, every method works. It’s just that some work more effectively than others. How well a method works varies according to many other factors, which by the way, differ in everyone’s circumstances. So, forget the whole online vs offline thing. It is a debate with no solid ending.

Instead, start looking at the BIG picture. Now let me enlighten you with what that BIG PICTURE is.  Big Picture #1 This might hurt, but your network marketing business is really NOT your business. You don’t own the products nor do you own your downline. Your income is dependent on the network company, which means you earn a commission. What you are is a commissioned rep for that company. Just as in other jobs, you can be terminated at any time. Read the T & C you signed if you don’t believe me. The only way you can make it your own business (or so to speak) is to build an email list.

It protects you against that unfortunate event should your company dismiss you, or if your company crashes. An email list consists of your prospects, and should anything happen to you or your company, you still have your list to fall back on. The email list is something YOU OWN AND CONTROL. You can take your prospects with you whenever you switch companies.  Big Picture #2 Now an email list won’t mean anything to you unless it is an extensive list of QUALITY people. People who are likely to acquire other quality people, who will in turn duplicate. If they can’t duplicate then they are a waste of time. It’s really important you learn how to get quality leads, how to market to them, and how to qualify them so that they will be useful to your list. The internet is a great place to start.  Big Picture #3 Nobody says you should only use offline marketing methods or only use online methods. Don’t limit yourself to one or the other. Combine both and use them systematically; sticking to what works for you at the time.  Big Picture #4 Duplicate, duplicate, duplicate.

In case you didn’t catch that, network marketing success is all about DUPLICATION. Hey, it’s not called networking for no reason. There are endless ways on how you can duplicate your team, both offline and online. Here are a couple of ideas to use: 1. A recorded step by step webinar (or a series of) is a great tool to train your reps so no one gets misled. Take advantage of webinars even for your offline marketing methods. 2. Co-ops is a good way to sponsor your marketing efforts, especially when your budget is tight. Co-ops work by getting your team to pool funds and using the funds to advertise as one entity. This allows you to access profitable sources which may otherwise be out of reach for a single person. Co-ops pan out well because the profits get shared and any losses (if any) are minimized.
