The rings: Five rings to point up the universality of the Olympic Movement and the Olympic Games. The Rings and flag proposed by Pierre de Coubertin in 1914 Slide3:  The five rings represent the five continents. They are interlaced to show the universality of Olympism and the meeting of the athletes of the whole world during the Olympic Games.
