POLITICAL BORDER Defines influence of a state. It’s one of the main features of sovereign state. Political borders are necessary for administrative reasons. Already natural, historically stable borders are difficult to change. Borders are made by people to protect them.

EUROPEAN UNION AREA External borders of Europe are strict in order to protect “European community”. Inner borders of Europe are no longer important for protecting national areas. European Union also concentrates on regional development and identity.
