Slide 1: Narrating Your PowerPoint Slide 2: You added animations Slide 3: Your Pictures Slide 4: You've already completed your PowerPoint now what? Now you're going to make it talk! Slide 5: Go to the right side of the tool bar and click on the down arrow Slide 6: A dropdown menu will appear. Left click on the Add or Remove Button. Slide 7: Another dropdown appears. Left click on Customize. Slide 8: The following menu appears in the center of the slide as below: Scroll down on the left side to Slide Show. Left click. Slide 9: Go to Record Narration and holding down the left click button, drag to the tool bar and let go to the button. Slide 10: Record Narration will appear in the tool bar and be ready to use. Slide 11: When you’re ready to record, left click on the “Record Narration” in the toolbar. (By now you should have something in mind to say. Go over the presentation a couple of times and make an outline by slide number. Or you can print out a copy of your presentation look at every slide as you go) 1. Intro to presentation 2. Animations 3. Pictures 4. Done now narrate If you don’t like what you say, you can do it over as many times as you like. Slide 12: Start on the first slide. All animations should be “on click”, this way you guide the viewer through the presentation. Hold the mic close to your mouth. Click on “Record Narration”. A prompt will appear to regulate the mic. Slide 13: Click on “Set Microphone level”, another prompt appears, follow cue. Slide 14: Once you click OK, you’re ready to start. Try a couple of slides, then right click and end show. Go back and listen the narration and timing of the changes. Common problems: Timing – pause a bit before you click, this allows the viewer time to take notes (if you give notes, you have to allow enough time for them to write) Narration – this is yours. Take your time. Speak slowly and remember, this is to help. Add whatever comments it takes, just like in class.
