What is a mother tongue? • What language do you speak at home? • How do you say hello in your home language? • Can you read in your home language? • The language you learned when you were very small is your mother tongue.

Mother tongue and culture • Last year grades 2 and 3 learnt that culture is about the way people do things. • People who speak the same mother tongue often share a culture. • It's about food, music, celebrations.

Why do we care? • Our mother tongue is important • Even if we learn in another language our mother tongue or language is about who we are. • Respect your language and culture.

So, what language does God speak? • What language do you use when you pray to God? • God created us. • He created us different but the same. • God's language is called Love. • He sent His son to tell us He loves us THIS much. • John 3:16
