Continues…  MOOCs are courses that are delivered electronically to massive audiences— often in the tens of thousands of students—via the Internet.  Students are not charged for using moocs.  It covers a single topic.  MOOCs are free non-degree online courses with open unlimited global enrolment to anyone who desires to learn, and regardless of their current educational level.

My own definition of moocs  Moocs is an online learning platform that allows anyone/students to learn through different courses.  Anyone can register with Moocs and participate in one learning topic.

Moocs background.  George Siemens presented the first MOOC in 2008 at the University of Manitoba.  2200 Learners participated in the first MOOC presentation.  In 2010 Dave Cormier added MOOCs videos on Youtube.  About 370.000 Harvard students registered on MOOCs in 2012.  In 2013 above 500.000 students registered.

Different types of MOOCs  C moocs  X moocs

Advatanges  Moocs may encourage the development of e-learning.  Improve life-long learning skills.  You do not need a degree to follow a course.  You can connect across disciplines and corporate/institutional walls.  Learning happens in a more informal setting, at a place of your convenience and often around your own schedule.

Disadvantages  It feels chaotic as participants create their own content.  It demands digital literacy..  It demands time and effort from the participants.  As a participant you need to be able to self-regulate your learning and possibly give yourself a learning goal to achieve.

Field of interest  Business management  Technology  Gadgets  Wildlife

Topics I would like to pursue Business Management Emerging trends and technologyRole of technology Technological innovation Business environments Entrepreneurial skills Strategic management
