This article mentions one popular qualitative method called Focus Group Discussion (FGDs) Method definition: FGDs is a carefully planned discussion designed to obtain perceptions on a defined area of interest in a permissive, nonethreatening environment Advantages & Disadvantages: Advantages: Researchers use FGDs when researchers are looking for insights into a new area of research. Secondly, it is necessary when researchers investigate topics where opinions and attitudes are conditional. Thirdly, Researchers will apply focus group method when they need additional information to prepare for a larger scale study. Disadvantages: Firstly, FGDs is small and non- representative samples. Secondly, FGDs do not collect projectable results for researchers. Thirdly, it is artificial environment and lack of anonymity. Lastly, FGDs potentially biased results due to group influence
