LightHorse Healthcare, Inc. Providing Excellence in Integrative Behavioral Healthcare
Welcome to LightHorse Healthcare, Inc LightHorse Healthcare, Inc. is non-profit 501(c)(3) integrative behavioral healthcare center providing both in-office and experiential services to children, adolescents, adults, families and groups. We utilize an evidence-based, multispecies approach, thereby offering a dynamic treatment option in which patients heal body, mind and spirit while learning critical relationship skills.
Our Vision & Mission Our vision is to pioneer an integrated, sustainable and replicable therapeutic model of growth and change that encompasses behavioral healthcare, health & wellness and experiential services while being grounded in a sacred connection with the natural world. It is our mission to provide healing for the body, mind and spirit through inoffice and experiential therapies and services.
We come from humble beginnings… Where others saw a run down old barn; we saw our future. Where others saw back breaking labor; we gave sweat equity. Where others saw no potential; we built a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International Center.
The LightHorse Healthcare, Inc. story begins…
…in a „ram shackle‟ barn
...renewed with sweat and love,
….to create a place of healing.
For the children who would come…
as individuals, in groups, building friendships
…to learn and grow,
and, to WIN!
Then the wild things came…
to teach the children that they too have a responsibility
…to care for those,
who could not care for themselves.
Time passed 2007 – 2011 LightHorse Healthcare, Inc. was an all volunteer program providing Animal Assisted Therapy & Therapeutic Riding. Community mental health providers utilized the farm to offer their clients experiential therapy services, however, that did not begin to meet the clinical needs of the community.
The gift of the present 2012 – Present Through the generosity of others, with many giant leaps of faith, we have grown to meet critical needs in the community creating what LightHorse Healthcare, Inc. is today.. a comprehensive integrative behavioral healthcare center. Mental illness has reached crisis proportion in the US and few quality resources exist, especially in Coastal Georgia. LightHorse Healthcare, Inc. has a unique approach that pairs medical and clinical expertise with the health that comes from a relationship with Creation.
September 1, 2012 Clinical Office Opens

…And so, in 2013 we got a new place to “hang our hat” and some new farm friends too.
With new four legged and feathered friends…
..and new opportunities to learn..
..the value of hard work..
…the delight of a healing touch..
..the wonder of creation..
...and the power of friendship.
Children now have a place…
at the farm, where time slows down,
..to catch a fish..
pet a pig..
…milk a cow..
…and, bathe a horse.
Life is simpler on the farm, and people get better.
