The rules regarding environmental law are difficult to set as the whole world is affected by the earth's balance, what occurs on one side of the planet can affect the environment of the other side. This has recently become more apparent through rising sea levels due to a warmer planet. Slide 3: The laws need to be passed via both state and federal legislatures. The mission of laws set for environmental purposes are to create polices that will defend our environment, elements of which include land, air and sea, as well as noise, energy and waste. Some of the acts created to enhance this include: -The Clean Air Act -The Clean Water Act -The Pollution Prevention Act -The National Environmental Policy Act -The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act Slide 4: Why is Environmental Law necessary? Environmental law is becoming increasingly necessary as elements such as global warming begin to take a bigger toll on the atmosphere. More recently, most of everything that gets manufactured has to comply with some level of environmental responsibility; these include things such as cars having to have a certain level of CO2 emissions. Sometimes individuals and companies take it upon themselves to consider the cost efficiency over the welfare of the environment, such as a company disposing of harmful waste wherever they can instead of paying for it to be disposed of safely. It has to be constantly updated in order to comply with new events and concerns that occur as the environmental state worsens. Slide 5: Environmental law not only covers regulations for companies but it is includes problems of everyday life for individuals, these can include; Fly tipping, Noise pollution, Graffiti, Litter, Dog mess, Wildlife, Water pollution. An Environmental lawyer comes into action when a law set under these acts is believed to have been breached. This could be to do with effecting wild life or waste disposal.
