8. 8 | P a g e Lefentse Sennelo IBM Certified DB2 for LUW Advanced Administrator IBM Websphere Application Server Administrator Previous Responsibilities as a DB2 for LUW DBA I was previously part of a team that supports Standard Bank production and non-production DB2 for LUW databases. These database setups include HADR configured databases (with PowerHA for HA purposes). These databases service web-based OLTP applications (in most cases) which mostly reside on WebSphere Application Server. We were also responsible for larger DSS type databases such as SAP back-end (BW) and other reporting/enabling systems). I have noted a few responsibilities and experience below from a DB2 LUW and UNIX scripting (shell scripting) perspective. UNIX Scripting:  Automation of repetitive and time consuming tasks  This allowed us, as DBAs, to spend more time doing DBA specific tasks (i.e. Performance Tuning) thus adding more value to business.  Automation of “house-keeping” (e.g. clearing file system space)  Knowledge of reading/interpreting and debugging UNIX scripts  Automation of database health checks  Automation of ADHOC tasks/jobs DB2 administration:  Database creation (Including DDL and DML implementation)  Performance Tuning  Online support  After hours support (standby)  Problem determination  Data type efficiency and optimization  Tablespace creation; SMS and DMS tablespace knowledge

9. 9 | P a g e Lefentse Sennelo IBM Certified DB2 for LUW Advanced Administrator IBM Websphere Application Server Administrator DB2 administration: (continued)  Database Maintenance – e.g. Runstats, reorgs etc  Support for db2 hierarchy tables. For example, if your disk striping or layout is not optimal your environment will have a bottleneck.  This was also achieved by tools such as BMC  Production support (i.e. Day-to-day administrative tasks and implementation and/or support of change requests from business)  Review/approval of Solution designs Major Projects Standard Bank:  Anti-Money Laundering stabilization and tuning (2010)  ZIMBABWE DB2 v9.5 upgrade (2010)  Liberty Life systems take-on (2010)  ZIMBABWE core banking stabilization and performance tuning (2010) – significant performance improvements gained  My Updates Z-Lunix re-write (2010)  HADR/TSA Proof of Concept (2010)  SAP data load from DB2 ZOS to DB2 LUW.  IBM BPM implementation from a DB2 perspective (2013/2014)  SAP BOBJ implementation from a DB2 perspective (2013/2014)  Database consolidation {i.e. re-hosting stand-alone DBs to a hosted DB2 environment for cost reduction and standardized/optimal administration of the enterprise environment} (2014)  Database software currency {i.e. upgrades to v10.x} (2014)  Standard Bank insurance migration to WebSphere Application Server (2016)  WebSphere Application software currency project (2016)  Payments system implementation (included Extreme Scale – 2016)  Signature verification implementation from a WebSphere/HTTP perspective  Support of major releases such as AML and BR6 {legislation related projects} (2016)  LDAP Fixpack upgrade {software currency} (2016)
