MAJOR APPROACHES TO ASSIST:- Assistance during Assessment Multisensory Approach Meditation Cognitive training to change covert thoughts Behavior Modification Slide 12: SOME SERVICE IN ACTION TO ASSIST THE LEARNING DISABLED CHILDREN:- Students using graph paper for lining math problems. Students using larger lined paper to write. Allow the student to write legibly and neater. Children using audio tape to write a book. Children drawing pictures for weekly vocabulary. Students doing worksheet. Meta-cognition chart to remind children of how to think. Understanding empathy and opportunities for children with disabilities. Slide 13: Because many people with dyslexia are right-brained thinkers, they may be more artistic and creative, becoming poets, actors, inventors, and artists. Children with dyslexia use “almost five times as much brain area as other children while doing a simple language task” (Silverstein et al., 2001, p. 22). “In the past, doctors…tried to prevent [children with disabilities] from being born; they…also…tried to stop some [people with disabilities] from having children of their own” (Flynn, 1998, p. 11). The only kind of learning disability is Dyslexia. Corrective eyewear is an effective treatment for learning disability such as Dyslexia. Watching too much television causes learning disability.
