Arial: HOLY ROSARY According to The Calling of The Holy Father John Paul II on his APOSTOLIC LETTER ROSARIUM VIRGINIS MARIAE TO THE BISHOPS, CLERGY AND FAITHFUL ON THE MOST HOLY ROSARY  PRAY THE ROSARY Book Antiqua: NOTES ON THE PRAYER OF THE ROSARY (From the APOSTOLIC LETTER ROSARIUM VIRGINIS MARIAE , by The Holy Father John Paul II): The Rosary of the Virgin Mary…remains…a prayer of great significance,…It blends easily into the spiritual journey of the Christian life…and feels drawn by the Spirit of God to “set out into the deep” ( duc in altum! ) in order…to proclaim, and even cry out, before the world that Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour, “the way, and the truth and the life” ( Jn 14:6), “the goal of human history and the point on which the desires of history and civilization turn” The Rosary, though clearly Marian in character, is at heart a Christocentric prayer . In the sobriety of its elements, it has all the depth of the Gospel message in its entirety , of which it can be said to be a compendium…With the Rosary, the Christian people sits at the school of Mary and is led to contemplate the beauty on the face of Christ and to experience the depths of his love. Through the Rosary the faithful receive abundant grace , as though from the very hands of the Mother of the Redeemer.  …it represents a most effective means of fostering among the faithful that commitment to the contemplation of the Christian mystery which I have proposed in the Apostolic Letter Novo Millennio Ineunte as a genuine “training in holiness”: “What is needed is a Christian life distinguished above all in the art of prayer ” Batang: The Rosary, a contemplative prayer “Without contemplation, the Rosary is a body without a soul…” (Paul VI) By its nature the recitation of the Rosary calls for a quiet rhythm and a lingering pace, helping the individual to meditate on the mysteries of the Lord's life as seen through the eyes of her who was closest to the Lord. In this way the unfathomable riches of these mysteries are disclosed” the Rosary…, as a “meditation” with Mary on Christ, is a salutary contemplation . By immersing us in the mysteries of the Redeemer's life, it ensures that what he has done and what the liturgy makes present is profoundly assimilated and shapes our existence . God communicates himself to us respecting our human nature and its vital rhythms. Hence, while Christian spirituality is familiar with the most sublime forms of mystical silence in which images, words and gestures are all, so to speak, superseded by an intense and ineffable union with God, it normally engages the whole person in all his complex psychological, physical and relational reality. Office Theme: A valid method The rosary, a method of contemplation and spiritual concentration. the West is now experiencing a renewed demand for meditation , which at times leads to a keen interest in aspects of other religions. Some Christians, limited in their knowledge of the Christian contemplative tradition, are attracted by those forms of prayer. While the latter contain many elements which are positive and at times compatible with Christian experience, they are often based on ultimately unacceptable premises. Much in vogue among these approaches are methods aimed at attaining a high level of spiritual concentration by using techniques of a psychophysical, repetitive and symbolic nature. The Rosary is situated within this broad gamut of religious phenomena, but it is distinguished by characteristics of its own which correspond to specifically Christian requirements. In effect, the Rosary is simply a method of contemplation. As a method, it serves as a means to an end and cannot become an end in itself. All the same, as the fruit of centuries of experience…. In its favor one could cite the experience of countless Saints. …in the East, the most characteristic prayer of Christological meditation, centered on the words “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner” is traditionally linked to the rhythm of breathing; while this practice favors perseverance in the prayer, it also in some way embodies the desire for Christ to become the breath, the soul and the “all” of one's life. PowerPoint Presentation: The Rosary , a way of assimilating the mystery “It is a method of contemplation , designed to meditate and to assist the faithful on the assimilation of the mysteries of Christ.” “…the few suggestions which I am proposing in this Letter regarding its manner of recitation…, while respecting the well-established structure of this prayer, are intended to help the faithful to understand it in the richness of its symbolism and in harmony with the demands of daily life.” “To pray the Rosary is to hand over our burdens to the merciful hearts of Christ and his Mother.” “The Rosary does indeed mark the rhythm of human life , bringing it into harmony with the rhythm of God's own life, in the joyful communion of the Holy Trinity, our life's destiny and deepest longing” PowerPoint Presentation: PRAY THE ROSARY PowerPoint Presentation: JOYFUL MYSTERIES LUMINOUS MYSTERIES SORROWFUL MYSTERIES GLORIOUS MYSTERIES PowerPoint Presentation: JOYFUL MYSTERIES PowerPoint Presentation: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit With this Rosary we bind each other, all our children, indeed our entire family,……………., to the Most sacred Heart of Jesus, through the Immaculate Hearty of Mary, in union with Saint Joseph. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
