Jesus is the son of God. Jesus was equal to God the Father. Jesus was obedient to God the Father.

John 19:7 The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and according to that law he ought to die because he has made himself the Son of God.

JESUS WAS WHO HE SAID HE WAS * Jesus Christ affirms He is the Son of God (John 10:36, John 19:7, Matt 26:63-64, Mark 14:61-62, Rev 2:18) * God the Father affirms He is the Son of God (Mt 3:17 pp Mk 1:11 pp Lk 3:22 See also Mt 17:5 pp Mk 9:7 pp Lk 9:35; 2Pe 1:17) * Others affirm He is the Son of God (Jn 1:34, Mt 14:33, Mk 15:39 pp Mt 27:54; Ro 1:4; Heb 4:14; 2Jn 3) * Demons affirm He is the Son of God ( Mk 5:7 pp; Mt 8:29 pp; Lk 8:28, Mk 3:11; Lk 4:41)

John 1:18 (NIV) No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

C.S Lewis regarding Jesus being a great moral teacher: Liar? Lunatic? Lord?

Know who we are in Christ John 13:3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God.

To know God more, look at Jesus To know God is to know Jesus Christ (John 1:14, Jn 14:6; Col 1:15, Mt 16:16-17; Jn 8:19;Jn 15:15; Jn 16:15; Jn 17:26; Col 2:2-3; Hebrew 1:3, 1Jn 5:20)

John 8:19 NIV Then they asked him, “Where is your father?” “You do not know me or my Father,” Jesus replied. “If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”

Colossians 1:15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

John 5:18 (NIV) For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

John 10:30 (NIV) “I and the Father are one”

John 5:20-22 (NLT) For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he is doing. In fact, the Father will show him how to do even greater works than healing this man. Then you will truly be astonished. 21 For just as the Father gives life to those he raises from the dead, so the Son gives life to anyone he wants.22 In addition, the Father judges no one. Instead, he has given the Son absolute authority to judge.

Implication: We have access to all authority and power to overcome through Jesus. 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Ephesians 1:19-21 (NLT) I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honour at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. 21 Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come.

Power - Dunamis – strength, power, ability. Power for performing miracles.

John 5:19 (ESV)   So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.

John 14:31 (ESV) But I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here.

John 15:14 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

Christian Hosoi Obedience comes from love

•Know God by looking at Jesus •Trusting God is who He said He is •We have all authority and power in Jesus to overcome •We are to be obedient to our heavenly Father
