Purpose Why we use it 1. Have you ever thought on how the students really understood your explanations in class? 2. What is the logical reasoning students are using when solving exercises? • Enduring understanding • Mastering content • Student communication

Theoretical Underpinnings Where We Got the Idea Create Produce a screencast Analyze Outline reviews/ summaries of their understanding Apply Demonstrate knowledge by role playing a teacher

In a Nutshell How it works It is a white board in which you can: • record your voice • include drawings and photos from camera, album, Dropbox or the web • type text or handwrite • scroll pages up and down for extra space • share lessons via email, Facebook and twitter, links and QRcodes

“Suite” Solutions Tools we use EDUcreations Desmos

Tips & Tricks 1. Know the App make sure to explore the basic features of the app before planning the activity 2. Give clear instructions a. students need to know what are your expectations as a final product b. give a recording time limit range 3. Planning make students plan before recording Not to DoTo Do 1. Not Giving clear instructions give free recording time range will make the projects very unequal for different students 2. Don’t plan to use students materials over the time as examples the screencast can’t be downloaded, so if your student deletes the video or the app, it can’t be any longer used

In Action This is how we do it It all depends on the purpose of the screencast: Research content: goo.gl/ICz8te Mastering content: goo.gl/UiFPnC Formative assessment: goo.gl/s3iXyQ
